1990 Flxible 35096-6T The original paint scheme for #309, Repainted July 2009 Coach 309 is a Flxible Metro 35096-6T and is powered by a 6V92TA Detroit Diesel engine with Allison V731 ATEC transmission. It was part of an order of 27 built in August, 1990 for the Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC). These were the last buses to be delivered in Richmond's orange and tan livery and were also Richmond's last order of buses from the now-defunct Flxible Corporation of Delaware, Ohio. The orange and tan paint scheme and the use of Flxible buses date back to the early 1970s. Coach 309 saw a few changes throughout its service life.
